Carrousel for iPhone and Apple TV

Nederlands

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Carrousel shows photos you choose on your iPhone as a slideshow on your Apple TV. This policy explains what happens to your data. In short: the developer of Carrousel does not collect, see or store any of your data.

No data collected by us

Carrousel has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run servers. Nothing you add to the app is sent to us.

Your photos and iCloud

  • You pick photos with the system photo picker. Carrousel only sees the photos you select, not the rest of your library.
  • Each photo is scaled down to at most 3840 pixels, with a small thumbnail. These copies are stored in your private iCloud database, under your own Apple ID. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy apply to that storage.
  • The image files themselves contain no metadata. Separately, Carrousel stores the date a photo was taken and, if the photo has one, the location where it was taken. You can change or remove the location in the app. Titles you add and display settings are stored as well.
  • Your Apple TV stores its name, its settings and when it was last active in the same iCloud database. It keeps a temporary copy of photos on the device, which tvOS may remove at any time.

Place names

When you edit a photo that has a location, Carrousel asks Apple Maps for nearby place names to suggest as a title. For this, the photo's coordinates are sent to Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to Apple Maps.

Sharing with others

Your Apple TV can show a QR code to invite people in your household. Anyone who scans that code, or a photo of it, can join your Carrousel library through iCloud sharing. People who join can see and add photos for all your Apple TVs, including the dates, locations and titles stored with the photos. Only show the code to people you trust.

Deleting your data

Photos you delete in Carrousel are removed from iCloud. Deleting the app does not remove your data from iCloud. To remove everything, delete the photos in the app first, or remove Carrousel's data from your iCloud storage in the Settings app.

Children

Carrousel is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
